The Freez in Moorhead has a new owner and soon, will open again with a new name. The owner of Buddy’s Parfait says she is excited to finally be able to make the announcement public.
“The second week of June is what we’re hoping for,” said Brandee LeNoue, Buddy’s Parfait owner.
The company came on the market for sale late in 2024. In March of 2024, The Freez opened officially under new owner Lorraine Moore. Former owner Jess Malvin had been part of ‘The Freez’ since 2018 but finally decided to put the business on the market for sale.
“This is going to be a busy summer for sure!” LeNoue posted in enthusiasm on social media. LeNoue and her family have been preparing the shop so it will be ready for summer.
“Cleaning out a lot of stuff, making it a little more functional. The last time it was done was probably 50 years ago, I would say, at least updated on the inside,” said LeNoue.
During the changes in ownership however, the menu will just have some minor adjustments.
“I’ve never been in the ice cream business. I’ve done baking and food and catering previously, just not ice cream. So, it was on the market and it was close to my birthday and I was like, ‘I want it’,” stated LeNoue.
Buddy’s Parfait plans to be operational during the second week of June.
