In Oneida County, a car hit a bridge post and killed one person. People aren’t being told who the victim is until their families are told.
On Saturday, April 12, 2025, New York State Police were called to the spot on Route 12. There was a crash that night just after 7:30 pm.
According to the first part of the investigation, the driver was going north on State Route 12 when the vehicle left the road and crossed the center line before hitting something.
State Police said the car did catch fire and was completely on fire before the Deerfield Fire Department got there.
The probe into what caused the crash is still going on.
