A 22-year-old suspect is in the Palm Beach County Jail after a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle.
New video from the Lantana Police Department shows the culprit running red lights, racing through crossings, and pursuing the stolen automobile into Interstate 95.
It began Tuesday night, when Boynton Beach police arrived at the Five Star Beauty Spa, located off Federal Highway, to find a 21-year-old hairdresser crying and distressed.
According to the arrest report, she was leaving her shift when the suspect, 22-year-old Wisney Aurelien, entered the salon unexpectedly.
According to spa employees, Aurelien knows the victim and has visited her in the salon.
However, that evening, police claim Aurelien approached the woman in a “confrontational manner” and began battling her before pushing herself into her 2007 white Honda.
Officials said: Aurelien then took off.
The victim’s iPhone, credit card, and licence were in the vehicle.
Police began after the culprit, and several witnesses captured video of the high-speed chase. It began in Lantana and continued through Boca Raton before concluding at Boynton Beach.
Aurelien eventually caused a collision and came to a halt on East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
Boynton Beach police stopped her automobile, arrested her, and charged her with a variety of crimes, including carjacking, grand theft, and assault on a police officer.
The hair salon claims the victim has not returned to work since the incident.
