Chase Across I-295 Ends in Court: Providence Man Faces Multiple Felonies

Chase Across I-295 Ends in Court Providence Man Faces Multiple Felonies

The man from Providence is currently in arrest after allegedly leading police on a fast-paced pursuit through several Rhode Island communities on Wednesday.

This morning, Jesse Marinaro, 35, appeared before a court for his arraignment.

Police claim this is the sixth time he has eluded them and the fourth time he has broken strong no-contact orders. He is described as a repeat criminal.

Commuters from Woonsocket and Cumberland caught the fast-paced pursuit just two days ago.

Through residential neighborhoods and onto I-295, a man—now identified by authorities as Marinaro—led a procession of lights and sirens.

“The best thing I can say is that if you’ve ever played GTA, it sounded like a police chase,” one witness told NBC10.

Marinaro’s right eye was recently bruised when he appeared before the judge this morning.

Providence, Cumberland, and Woonsocket police waited in line to recite the litany of allegations against him.

“You are being accused by Woonsocket police on count one for eluding police,” the Providence judge began. “It’s a felony. Violating a no contact order, again it’s a felony, due to the number of convictions.”

The day’s activities started, according to Woonsocket police, when a lady who was purportedly shielded from Marinaro by a no-contact order reported him outside her apartment for hammering on windows and doors.

Prosecutors claim that Marinaro was the one who fled the house on his motorcycle and led police on a fast-paced pursuit through Cumberland and Woonsocket.

Even though he was able to elude the police on Wednesday, according to police reports, an officer found him a day later in Providence.

In addition to being charged with multiple charges of disorderly behavior and one charge of assaulting police, he was allegedly discovered in possession of methamphetamines.

“You are being accused in count two of resisting arrest, count three obstructing the police, and count four assaulting a police officer,” the judge continued.

Furthermore, Marinaro has had numerous run-ins with the law.

There was still an outstanding warrant for his arrest in a different felony sexual assault case from Massachusetts that was brought up in court.

Marinaro denied being aware of the charges.

“That’s crazy, a sexual assault on my girlfriend?” Marinaro, questioned.

“That’s why I’m referring you to the public defender’s office,” the judge responded.

Currently being jailed without bail, Marinaro is anticipated to return to court later this month.
