CHELSEA As the United States of America gets ready to make another orbit around the sun, fireworks from the previous year’s festivities can still be seen in the distance.
The Big Kaboom and the fifth annual ChelseaFest will take center stage from 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, as the city of Chelsea gets ready for the newest iteration of its Independence Day celebrations.
The biggest celebration in Chelsea will take place in the spacious field behind the Dairy Queen, and there will be a lot of activities to entertain people of all ages.
The Yankee Doodle Dandy Children’s Bike Parade will begin at 6 p.m., just like last year’s Big Kaboom. Children are encouraged to decorate their bicycles, tricycles, scooters, and wagons before they parade down Chelsea Corners Way.
With a variety of food trucks that will also have tables, chairs, and tents available for use, the celebrations will also give guests an opportunity to dine well. But the city is also permitting residents to pack blankets so they may have a family picnic.
Outside of the food, vendors will have an alley set up to stroll through, featuring a number of local vendors along with booths set up from the city s churches and businesses.
Children will also have entertainment options thanks to the Kids Zone, which will feature games and inflatables donated by local churches.
The band Trotline, who have played at ChelseaFest before, will be the main act for the latest edition of Chelsea’s Independence Day event.
Founded in 1997 in Georgia, Trotline is a country and southern rock band that plays concerts in the southeastern United States. The band has five members. Away I Go, The Beach Song, and Beautiful are a few of their well-known songs.
At nine o’clock in the evening, the fireworks show will start, accompanied by background music. KOOL 96.9 will also livestream the evening.
There will be parking in the field behind the event and behind the former Winn Dixie.
