Dozens of Officers Swarm Mustang after 100 MPH Chase ends on 90 Freeway in Los Angeles

A few dozen police officers surrounded a car after a chase ended in a brief standoff on the 90 Freeway near Marina del Rey Friday morning.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the pursuit began at 10:10 a.m. near Franklin and Highland avenues in Hollywood, and the male driver of the white Ford Mustang was wanted for alleged domestic abuse.

Until shortly before 11 a.m., the driver was speeding on surrounding motorways, often exceeding 100 mph, until pulling over alongside the 90 Freeway near Marina del Rey.

At that point, multiple police cars surrounded the Mustang, resulting in a standoff.

Around 11:05 a.m., a few dozen officers surrounded the car and extracted the driver and a passenger, who appeared to be female. Her relationship with the driver has not been disclosed.

Due to the standoff, all lanes of the road were closed.
