Dozens of Walgreens Stores Shutting Down in 17 States See the Locations

Following the pharmaceutical giant’s announcement that it would liquidate roughly 1,200 stores in an effort to boost its faltering U.S. business, dozens more Walgreens sites are getting ready to close in the upcoming weeks and months.

Walgreens stated in October that roughly 500 stores would close throughout the fiscal year, but they did not specify when the remaining stores would close.

However, as of Tuesday, a few of its over 8,000 outlets were listed online as potentially closing.

“This location will permanently close on May 22.” A banner on the East Haven, Connecticut, Walgreens’ location page offers customers information about moving their prescriptions to another Walgreens and says, “We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.”

Although the dates differ for each affected store, there are two broad categories: one will close next week, and the other will close in late June.

However, a research revealed that 54 locations in 17 states will close in the upcoming weeks:

Walgreens says it is ready to move your prescription to another of its stores if your neighbourhood Walgreens has closed or will shortly close.

You can accomplish it by using a delivery option, updating an auto refill, or during the refill process. You may find more information on the Walgreens website.
