Father and daughter among 6 arrested in Lancaster county drug operation, officials revealed

Deputies said that a significant narcotics bust in Lancaster County on Tuesday morning resulted in the arrest of six individuals, including a father-daughter pair.

On Tuesday, May 6, a house on Crestfield Drive close to the University of South Carolina-Lancaster campus was the scene of the bust.

Deputies claimed they carried out a search warrant at Scott Duncan’s residence following two controlled meth purchases from one of the accused individuals.

During the search, Scott Duncan, his daughter, and two other suspects were apprehended inside the house. Two further individuals were apprehended after being discovered in a camper.

During the search, officers reported finding fentanyl, meth, gabapentin, trazodone, and marijuana in multiple locations. All six of the individuals on the property were arrested as a result of the search.

“This address was very familiar to us, and we have been getting complaints about drug activity there for some time,” said Sheriff Barry Faile. “We were a little surprised about the number of people on the property when the drugs were found and are pleased we could make the charges we did.”

Charges brought

In the case, six people were arrested and accused. Following are the details:

  • Scott Duncan, 54, was placed in jail under a $87,500 bond and charged with the following:
    • Distribution of methamphetamine
    • Two counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance in proximity to a school for the controlled buys
    • Possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine
    • Possession of gabapentin without a prescription
    • Possession with intent to distribute marijuana
    • Possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance in proximity to a school
  • Samantha Duncan, 33, was given a $2,500 bond, served with a general sessions bench warrant for failing to appear on a shoplifting charge, and charged with:
    • Possession of more than two grains of fentanyl
  • Brittney Carnevale, 33, posted a $2,000 bond on Wednesday and was charged with:
    • Possession of methamphetamine
  • James Walters, 43, was placed in jail under a $26,000 bond and charged with the following:
    • Two counts of possession of methamphetamine
    • Possession of contraband after methamphetamine was found on him when he was booked into the detention center
  • Jessica Sims, 35, was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond and charged with:
    • Possession of tramadol hydrochloride (Trazodone)
  • George Twitty II, 43, was placed in jail under a $3,000 bond and detainer from the Rock Hill Police Department for a driving offense. He was charged with:
    • Possession of methamphetamine
