A $5,000 reward is being offered by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for information regarding an April Tesla firebombing in Kansas.
Around 1:05 a.m. on April 3, 2025, a suspect was seen tossing two lighted Molotov cocktails at the rear of a Tesla collision center in Lenexa, Kansas, according to a news release from the ATF.
According to ATF, the suspect drove a car to and from the scene. ATF did not provide a description of the car, and the suspect has not been named.
The incident has been classified as a “intentional act of arson,” according to the ATF. Local law enforcement and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are also conducting investigations.
“This was a calculated attack that could have caused significant harm,” ATF Kansas City Special Agent in Charge Bernard Hansen stated in the news release.
The FBI is asking anyone with knowledge on the attack to call 1-800-CALL-FBI.
According to the agency, a tip must result in the arrest and conviction of the attacker or perpetrators in order to qualify for the ATF award. According to the ATF, tipsters who want to get reward money must provide their name and contact details.
“If you saw something or know something—even if it seems minor—now is the time to speak up,” Hansen stated.
