The vehicle that has been linked to thefts was reportedly seen by officers on Monday “across El Centro and in San Diego County,” as stated by the Central City Police Department.

The driver continued driving despite the officers’ attempts to halt the vehicle, finally joining Interstate 8 in the direction of San Diego in the westbound direction.

The vehicle was eventually stopped by the police, who, in collaboration with the California Highway Patrol and the Border Patrol, used spike strips at a checkpoint that was maintained by the Border Patrol.

The driver, who was described as a resident of San Diego, was taken into custody on numerous criminal offenses, one of which was an active felony warrant issued by Riverside County, according to the police.
