Officials claimed that after crashing on Friday while escaping police, all five passengers inside a vehicle needed to be brought to the hospital.
According to a Pleasant Prairie Police Department press release, officers discovered a car while patrolling on April 11 that had apparently fled the Winthrop Harbor Police Department earlier that day.
The vehicle then fled from Pleasant Prairie police officers, and the pursuit ended when the suspect driver lost control, causing a rollover crash.
All five people in the vehicle were sent to the hospital for medical treatment before being released in stable condition.
The following charges were filed after the pursuit:
- Fleeing & Eluding an Officer
- 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Possession of Cocaine
- Probation/Parole Hold
- OWI Causing Great Bodily Harm
- 1st Degree Reckless Injury
- Injury by Intoxicated Use of Vehicle
- Discharging Bodily Fluid at an Officer
- Operating a Vehicle without a Valid License Causing Great Bodily Harm
According to police, in addition to the accusations indicated above, additional municipal citations were issued.
