A woman from Florida was taken into custody not too long ago after a number of syringes and fentanyl were discovered “inside her person,” according to the Sunshine State police system.
According to the records kept by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, Jessica Reno, who is 34 years old, is accused of committing a wide variety of offences, including the possession of fentanyl and the concealment of a controlled substance.
On the other hand, the incident that led to this was not in any way connected to drugs.
Not at all, in point of fact.
In accordance with the charging affidavit that was submitted in the case, Reno was pulled over on June 15 for a mismatched license plate that was allegedly attached to a Ford car but was instead attached to the defendant’s Chevrolet pick-up truck.
Additionally, the charging affidavit stated that the driver’s side seat belt was hanging near the door.
According to the document filed in court, a constable wrote that such a seatbelt is “consistent with the driver not properly wearing” their seatbelt, which led to a traffic stop being conducted.
On the other hand, the constable reports that Reno appeared to be taking her time.
“Upon activating my emergency lights and sirens, the vehicle tapped on its breaks several times, but it continued to proceed without stopping for approximately 30 seconds, despite having several safe, lit, areas to pull over,” according to the affidavit. “Upon making contact with the driver, she stated that she was on the phone and was talking to her daughter, which is why she did not immediately pull over. I then inquired if the female was the registered, owner of the vehicle, and she said yes. While attempting to get the operator’s Driver’s License, she stated that she does not have a license and has an upcoming court date regarding her Driver’s License suspension.”
According to the sheriff’s office, the traffic stop “confirmed” that Reno was driving without insurance and with a lapsed registration, and that the license plate was on the wrong car. In response to a question regarding her seatbelt, the defendant allegedly said she was “in a rush.”
Reno allegedly acknowledged after being Mirandized that she knew she had a court date coming up and that her licence was suspended due to a prior driving infraction.
According to the affidavit, she also stated that she used her friend’s license plate “approximately” six days before the traffic stop, after her own plate “blew off” her truck.

The case’s drug component then surfaced.
“Upon placing Jessica under arrest for the above-noted criminal charges, a female deputy was requested to perform a Search Incident to Arrest,” according to the affidavit. “During that time, it was explained to Jessica that if she had any other contraband on or inside her person, she would face additional criminal charges if it was located at the Inmate Facility, Jessica stated that she did not.”
Reno was then arrested and taken to the local jail. The drugs were allegedly discovered at that time and location.
“[T]he booking deputies discovered a black sock tucked into the area of Jessica’s vaginal cavity,” the affidavit added. “Within the black sock, deputies located six (6) capped syringes and a bag of a white powdery substance. While inquiring about the substance, Jessica stated that the substance was Fentanyl.”
Reno ultimately posted a $11,500 bond on Thursday after being charged with several drug and driving-related offenses.
