Florida Woman Accused of Stabbing 12-Year-Old Girl, Attempting to Conceal Her While Alive

According to deputies, a 12-year-old girl from Florida is recuperating after being stabbed by a lady who attempted to conceal her body before fleeing in her car.

The youngster was found Monday afternoon by onlookers in the Cecil Webb Wildlife Management Area, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.

They stated she needed urgent medical care since she was weak.

Deputies claimed the woman could only tell them that she was attacked with a knife by 36-year-old Gwendolyn Girard, who then fled in a gold van after leaving her under the brush.

In North Fort Myers, Lee County deputies found the van and Girard.

Girard was taken in to be questioned, and the vehicle was seized.

Aggravated battery and aggravated child abuse are the charges against her. After receiving treatment for her injuries, the victim’s condition has stabilized.

According to investigators, Girard confessed and provided them with the location of the knife used in the assault.

It’s unknown whether or how Girard and the victim were acquainted. It’s also unclear what motivated the attack.

“In my 33-year career, there are only a handful of times that I have been left speechless. This is one of those times,” Sheriff Bill Prummell stated. “To attack a child with a knife… I can’t understand it. It is only by God’s grace that she is still with us today, and I pray for her as she heals from this horrific incident. Unfortunately, the mental trauma inflicted on her may never heal.”
