In his long and illustrious military career, a former United States combat fighter pilot claims that a UFO encounter he had while flying at 30,000 feet in the air was one of the “wildest experiences” he has ever had.
When Maj. Ryan Bodenheimer, a former ace of the United States Air Force Thunderbirds and an F-15E combat fighter pilot, was on a training mission in southern Wyoming, he recounted on his YouTube channel earlier this month how he came dangerously close to colliding with a UFO that was shaped like a “perfect rectangle.”
During the day, Bodenheimer claimed that he was flying at a speed of 400 knots (460 miles per hour) at an altitude of approximately 30,000 feet in the sky when he became aware of a “bright object” that appeared “out of nowhere” in the distance.
Nevertheless, Bodenheimer came to the realization that the object was heading in the direction of his aircraft, which was a “collision course.”
“I put my hand on the control stick, I’m about to turn off the autopilot, and then I realized we weren’t going to hit, and all of a sudden it came more into view, and it was a rectangular shape,” he stated. “This was like essentially a perfect rectangle.”
According to him, the object appeared to be between thirty and forty feet in height, with “bright white” along the outside edges that appeared to be “glowing” and a clear center.
“I know it sounds like I’m talking about a delicious pastry, but this was the wildest experience I’ve ever had,” the former fighter pilot stated.
Bodenheimer entertained the idea that the object might be a weather balloon for a brief period of time; however, he asserted that it did not resemble anything that he had ever seen in the sky before.
“There’s no wings on this thing, no exhaust. The edges were so bright they were pulsing. Aerodynamically, this thing shouldn’t be going at close to 400 knots. For a rectangle to be flying through the air was a wild experience,” he stated.

He stated that he was not picking up any signal on his radar and that he was not experiencing any radio interference as it kept pace with his jet at a speed of 400 knots just a short distance away.
“It really was defying any type of aeronautical laws that I’ve learned,” Bodenheimer stated.

Following this, the alleged unidentified flying object “zooms off,” and Bodenheimer stated that he contacted air traffic control to report the encounter.
When he told the controller what had occurred, he stated that there was a “dead silence” before they informed the fighter pilot that they would have other aircraft keep an eye out for the object.
“I never heard anything about it [after],” according to the former fighter pilot.
He did, however, conduct some independent research and claimed that a report about a “anomalous object” that he had seen in his neighborhood had been filed that day.
Bodenheimer claimed that for years, he was afraid of the “stigma” associated with other pilots who had reported their experiences, so he never wanted to talk about his two UFO encounters.
The pilot-turned-YouTuber, however, stated that he feels more at ease sharing his experience now that the stigma has subsided and there have been more accounts of military pilots seeing UFO-like objects in the sky during the past 20 years.
Some of the most UFO sightings in the nation are infamously reported to occur in southern Wyoming.
Out of 421 sightings in the state since 1995, more than 50 have been reported in the city of Cheyenne, which is home to Warren Air Force Base.
