A former Appleton West High School teacher was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly having a sexual contact with a student.
The Appleton Police Department reported that Rebecca Ryan of Neenah had a sexual contact with a 17-year-old student while teaching at Appleton West during the 2017-18 school year.
She has not yet been charged, but she was arrested on three counts of sexual assault against a child by a school employee. The happenings were reported in March 2025.
According to the announcement, Appleton Police said there is currently no proof that other students were engaged. Ryan wasn’t a teacher when she was arrested.
No other information was released by the authorities.
