Four pronounced dead after 2-car crash on military trail in Boca Raton

Four persons were killed in a tragic two-car crash just west of Boca Raton on Monday night, April 21.

According to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBCFR), crews arrived to the 5000 block of South Military Trail, south of Champion Boulevard, at 9 p.m., after receiving reports of a two-car crash with one vehicle on fire.

One vehicle was discovered in the bushes, with the engine compartment on fire. Two occupants were able to exit the vehicle, and Fire Rescue was able to put out the flames. The driver and passenger were both sent to a local trauma centre.

The other vehicle slammed with a utility pole, and all four persons in it were pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics.

PBSO stopped the southbound lanes of Military Trail between Champion Blvd and Clint Moore Road to conduct a collision investigation. PBSO will be the primary investigating agency.

The road will remain closed for a lengthy amount of time. The names of the victims have not yet been disclosed.

This was the second multi-fatality crash in the Boca Raton region this month. On Friday, April 11, a six-seater Cessna 310 jet crashed shortly after takeoff from Boca Raton Airport, killing all three people on board.

Early reports indicate that a mechanical problem and a rudder problem could explain the plane’s flight route, which, according to the airline tracking website Flightradar24.com, showed the aircraft performing repeated left loops over Boca Raton before colliding into Military Trail.

The victims were Robert Stark, 81, of Boca Raton, Stephen Stark, 54, and Brooke Stark, 17, also of Delray Beach.
