Glastonbury Man says ‘Car Issues’ led to 119 mph speeding on I-384; Arrested in Connecticut

On Sunday, a guy from Glastonbury was taken into custody by state police for reportedly driving at a speed of 119 miles per hour on Interstate 384.

A charge of careless driving and failing to keep lane was brought against Antonio Carcia, who is 33 years old.

During the time when a trooper was deploying a speed laser in the vicinity of Exit 3 on the eastbound side of Interstate 384 at around 3:29 p.m., they observed a Volkswagen Golf traveling at an excessively high rate of speed.

A trooper recorded the vehicle’s speed as 119 miles per hour in a zone that allowed for 65 miles per hour when the vehicle performed an abrupt lane change.

Carcia allegedly stated that he was speeding due to problems with his vehicle when he was pulled over by state police. An arrest warrant was issued for him.

Carcia is set to make an appearance in Manchester Superior Court on May 23. She was freed on a bail of $1,500 pending her appearance.
