Helena prepares to celebrate Independence Day with special Old Town Live

– With the summer continuing to present fun events for people of all ages to enjoy, the city of Helena is preparing to put on its next summer spectacle with another year of celebrating the United States.

Helena’s Old Town Live concert series will throw the next edition of its Fourth of July night on Thursday, July 3 at the Helena Amphitheater, celebrating the 249th birthday of the country in style.

Like the rest of the concert series, the night will be filled with vendors, food trucks, lots of room for patrons to walks around in and enjoy the night and access to Buck Creek for those who would like to hang out in the open area across the bridge.

After the cancellation of the June Old Town Live concert due to weather, the city looks to see its annual Independence Day tradition bring a large crowd and help everyone in attendance make memories.

The gates for the event will open at 5 p.m. before the festivities kick off at 6 p.m. with musical tunes from Cracker.

Cracker is an American rock band that was formed in 1990. It was brought to life by lead singer David Lowery and guitarist Johnny Hickman. The band opened for Grateful Dead in 1994 and is known for many popular songs from the 1990s, including “Teen Angst” and “Eurotrash Girl.”

At 7:45 p.m., rock band and Grammy-nominated The Record Company will highlight the night with a series of blues rock tunes.

Based out of Los Angeles, California, and formed in 2011, The Record Company is known for popular songs like “How High,” “Life to Fix, “Off the Ground” and “Gotta Be Movin.”

During the highlight performance, Helena’s sky will be filled with a vibrant display of Fireworks as the festival has put on each year, lighting up Old Town with a show for all to watch while taking in the music.

Registration is currently open for vendors. However, spots a quickly filling up for those who would like to be present at the celebration for the nation.
