Holyoke man arrested after 100+ rounds of ammo, heroin found in vacant apartment

A Holyoke man was detained after police discovered over 100 rounds of ammunition during a house search on Maple Street.

According to a news release from the Holyoke Police Department, at approximately 12:25 a.m. on Wednesday, an officer performed a property check at 456 Maple Street when two people observed police and fled up the stairs.

One person was discovered inside an unoccupied apartment wearing a ski mask. When helping cops arrived and entered the flat, they saw another man trying to jump out the window. Officers were able to bring the man to safety after dropping three bags of suspected heroin.

Rodriguez-Tejada was charged with the following:

  • Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
  • Breaking and Entering into a Building – Nighttime for a Felony
  • Possession of a Class A Drug – Subsequent Offense
  • Trespassing

Officers detained him, and he was identified as Geruis Rodriguez-Tejada, 28, of Holyoke. Rodriguez-Tejada’s book bag was inspected, revealing over 100 rounds of ammunition, two 9mm rifle magazines, a 9mm gun barrel, and a knife.
