During a purported armed robbery attempt, the proprietor of a doughnut business in southeast Houston shot and killed a man.
On Thursday, the event was reported shortly before 6:15 a.m. It was held at the Snowflake Donuts location on the southeast side of Houston, next to the Houston Botanic Garden.
When police arrived on the scene, they discovered that a man in dark clothes and a black sweatshirt had entered the establishment. According to the owner of the store, the man was carrying a gun.
According to the proprietor, the man tried to rob the store after drawing his revolver. The owner then took out his own gun and shot the would-be thief inside the store.
At the scene, the individual was declared dead. According to officials, the owner seems to have been the only one to shoot during the confrontation.
Additionally, authorities have verified that CCTV footage from the store and surrounding areas shows the occurrence.
Authorities are investigating if this attempted robbery is related to other occurrences in the Houston region.
