Ice cream Shop struck by truck; Child, 11, among 5 injured after crash in Howard City

According to Michigan State Police, five people, including an 11-year-old, were hospitalized following a multi-car incident outside an ice cream shop in Howard City.

The accident occurred near Dairy Bear on Ensley Street at 7:40 p.m. Monday.

According to the inquiry, a car going south on Ensley Street crossed into the path of a pickup truck, and the two vehicles crashed.

The vehicle then drove into the Dairy Bear’s outside seating area, colliding with two other parked automobiles before coming to a stop, according to authorities.

An 11-year-old child standing in line for ice cream was struck by the truck and rushed to the hospital. However, their state is uncertain.

Four more persons were transported to the hospital with varied degrees of injuries, according to state police.

This incident is still under investigation.
