ICE nabs 200+ illegal immigrants with ties to Gangs and Assault in New York

In only one week this month, ICE and various federal law enforcement agencies arrested over 200 illegal aliens as part of a “enhanced immigration enforcement operation” in the “most crime-infested neighborhoods” of New York City.

According to an ICE statement released on Wednesday, 206 illegal immigrants were caught as part of the operation, with the majority having “egregious criminal histories to include manslaughter, rape, assault, drug trafficking, and sex assault against minors.”

From April 6 to 12, the operation took place in New York City, Long Island, and the Lower Hudson Valley region.

ICE and partners targeted “egregious criminal alien offenders,” including transnational criminal groups such as Ms-13, Tren de Aragua, Sureños, and 18th Street gangs.

According to the agency, many of the arrests were made after local officials in New York refused to respect immigration detainers filed by ICE and instead released illegal immigrants back into the community.

ICE reported that 121 of the 206 apprehended had major criminal records or were currently facing charges for murder, assault, arson, sex crimes, drug offenses, and guns crimes.

Among those arrested was Adnan Paulino-Flores, a 58-year-old unlawfully present Mexican national with a criminal record that includes arrests for sexual abuse of a person incapable of consent or physically helpless, as well as forcing another person to sexual intercourse without their agreement.

Jaime Gustavo Quizpi-Romero, a 51-year-old illegal from Ecuador, has a criminal record that includes being arrested for assault with purpose to cause physical injury with a weapon or device, as well as strangulation, restricting the breath and blood circulation, resulting in significant injury.

Another Ecuadorian illegal, Luis Olmedo Quishpi-Poalasin, 35, has a more extensive criminal record, including convictions for rape, sexual assault, unlawful incarceration, blocking testimony due to fear of violence, and sending threats via phone, computer, or mail.

The operation also resulted in the arrest of Edimar Alejandra Colmenares Mendoza, a 22-year-old Venezuelan illegal and member of the Tren de Aragua gang.

Colmenares Mendoza faces charges for conspiracy, larceny, and possession of stolen items.
