Kidnapped woman rescued after leaving note in sandwich shop in Florida

Authorities in Florida reported that they successfully rescued a woman who had been kidnapped after she discreetly left a handwritten note at a nearby sandwich shop.

Last month, the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office shared on Facebook that deputies responded to a business in Navarre after an employee reported finding a suspicious note.

A message was discovered at a Jersey Mike’s Subs, containing a request for assistance along with a nearby location.

Officials reported that the message was penned by the woman, who expressed that she was being confined against her will and was in fear for her safety.

Through the use of surveillance footage and various resources, officials successfully located Jordan Williams, 34. Authorities revealed that there was a background of domestic violence between Williams and the victim.

Authorities conducted a search of Williams’ residence and discovered the woman, who reported experiencing abuse.

A woman reported to authorities that she had been assaulted, threatened with weapons, and was being kept in isolation. Officials noted the woman had sustained injuries, including fractures. She was transported to a nearby medical facility for care.

“There was this little piece of crumpled up paper that was shoved next to our toilet paper dispenser, and it looked like a piece of trash,” employee Eleanor Coffee reported. “She was like, ‘Please help me. I’m at this address in Navarre. I need you to call the police and do a wellness check.'”

Officials have announced that Williams faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, false imprisonment, as well as both felony and misdemeanor battery, along with battery by strangulation.

The court appearance is set for June 19.
