Log falls from Truck, Crashes into Eugene School Bus—Driver injured

On April 28, a collision involving a log truck occurred near the junction of 11th Avenue and Greenhill Road. Additionally, a bus driver from the Eugene School District 4J experienced minor injuries as a result of the crash.

At approximately nine o’clock in the morning, witnesses reportedly saw a log slide off of a log truck and collide with the windscreen of a school bus, as stated by Melinda McLaughlin, a spokesman for the Eugene Police Department.

During the preliminary inspection of the crash site, it was discovered that the log was protruding from the log truck in an inadequate manner. During the turn that the truck driver was making, the log collided with the bus.

According to officials from 4J, there were two children from Kennedy Middle School on board at the time of the incident, but they did not sustain any injuries.

A number of minor injuries, including cuts and lacerations from broken glass, were sustained by the transportation driver.
