Lombard driver in custody after fleeing Police at 100 mph, Crashing into car with teen girls

A Lombard man accused of ramming into another vehicle while fleeing police at more than 100 mph will be held in custody until his next court appearance, officials said.

Andres Galvez, 37, appeared in bond court Sunday morning on multiple charges, including two counts of aggravated fleeing and eluding a police officer — one a Class 3 felony and the other a Class 4 felony — as well as more than a dozen misdemeanor and petty traffic offenses, including reckless driving and driving with a revoked license.

Galvez was already out on $150,000 bond for separate counts of cocaine possession with intent to supply, a Class X felony, and aggravated fleeing and evading.

The bond was established three days before the state’s Pretrial Fairness Act went into effect, according to the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office.

On April 25, about 11:49 p.m., Villa Park police attempted to stop a car for speeding near Route 83 and Riverside Drive.

When an officer activated the emergency lights and sirens, the motorist — later identified as Galvez — fled at high speed, authorities said.

Galvez allegedly ran a red light at Route 83 and Riverside Drive, then drove southbound on Route 83 at speeds exceeding 104 mph.

Prosecutors said he swerved around a parked Oak Brook police squad car, blew another red light at Route 83 and 31st Street, and then collided with a vehicle carrying three adolescent females.

The girls were treated by paramedics on the site. There were no significant injuries recorded.

Following the crash, Galvez was brought into jail.
