Lufkin, TX — A 74-year-old Lufkin man died Thursday evening after his vehicle veered off the road and flipped into a ditch, authorities confirmed.
According to the Lufkin Police Department, the crash occurred around 7:45 p.m. on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, just outside the Brookshire Brothers Warehouse. The driver, identified as Wille Coleman, was traveling northbound when his truck left the roadway on the right side.
Police said the vehicle drove through a ditch and creek before flipping twice and landing upside down. Coleman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation. An autopsy has been ordered as part of standard procedure, the department said.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash. Further details will be released as the investigation continues.
