A man was discovered dead on the side of a busy road in Birmingham, and an investigation is currently ongoing.
Officers in the West Precinct were called to the scene of a possible death just before 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The subject was located across the street from Chevron at 490 Forestdale Boulevard.
When police came, they discovered a Caucasian adult guy dead. He was only a few feet from the road in a patch of grass.
According to Officer Truman Fitzgerald, it’s too soon to say whether the man’s death was caused by foul play.
According to Fitzgerald, the victim has been here for a while. The reason of death of the person is unknown to us.
The body will be turned over to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, which will attempt to determine the cause and manner of death in addition to the identify of the deceased.
Our murder investigators will look into the matter and provide the public with updates as it develops, he said, if a crime was committed.
According to Fitzgerald, there are distinguishable characteristics that will aid in identifying the man. He didn’t go into detail and wasn’t sure if he had identification on him yet.
According to Fitzgerald, the man might be in his middle years.
