Houston police are investigating what led to a fatal shooting in a gas station parking lot in southwest Houston late Sunday night.
Around 11:15 p.m., it occurred on S Main Street, just off Highway 90 and Westridge Street. Initially, Houston police were investigating a nearby wreck when they heard gunfire, so they raced over and discovered an unidentified male shot many times in the parking lot.
That man was subsequently brought to a hospital, where Lt. Horelica stated that he died from his injuries.
Despite speaking with witnesses and studying surveillance video, it is unclear what led up to the shooting; in fact, Lt. Horelica stated that the gunman was not caught on tape and did not appear to engage with the victim.
As of this writing, no other information has been given, but if you know what happened, call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
