According to department sources, an Edmond police officer was stabbed Thursday afternoon while conducting a traffic stop.
Authorities said the incident took place in a parking lot close to Broadway and 15th Street.
Authorities claim that a police officer conducted a traffic check after pulling into a Goodwill parking lot. After speaking with the car’s driver, one of the people approached the officer, pepper-sprayed him, and then started a physical struggle.
Before being stabbed, the officer struggled with the offender and shouted for assistance. The man was tasered and arrested by officers after they arrived on the scene.
The officer’s status is unknown at this time; they were flown to OU Health.
