Sarah Snook, known for starring in “Predestination” is set to play the role of Steve Jobs’ depended publicist Andrea “Andy” Cunningham in the direction of Danny Boyle’s “Steve Jobs.”
Michael Fassbender will play the title role, along with Seth Rogen and Kate Winslet who will co-star as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and marketing chief of Mac Joanna Hoffman.
The official synopsis for the film describes: “With public anticipation running high, Apple Inc. co-founders Steve Jobs (Michael Fassbender) and Steve “Woz” Wozniak get ready to unveil the first Macintosh in 1984. Jobs must also deal with personal issues related to ex-girlfriend Chrisann Brennan and their young daughter Lisa. Eventually fired, Jobs launches NeXT Inc. and prepares to release a new computer model in 1988. Ten years later, Jobs is back at Apple Inc. and about to revolutionize the industry once again with the iMac.”
Other cast members cast also comprises Jeff Daniels (as former Apple CEO John Sculley), Michael Stuhlbarg (as Andy Hertzfeld), Perla Haney-Jardine and Ripley Sobo will both play the daughter of Steve Jobs Lisa Brennan (at different years) and Katherine Waterston (as Chrisann Brennan).
Andrea Cunningham started working with the tech genius on the release of the Apple Macintosh back in 1983. She proceeded to work with Apple as a buyer and narrated her ventures at the company for Jobs’ main biographer Walter Isaacson and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin.
The film features Cunningham resisting to switch off the emergency exit lights in the exhibition halls at Jobs’ command so that he could show his new creations in total darkness.
Various other parts in the movie remain uncast including tech reporter at GQ Joel Pforzheimer, software engineer Avie Tevanian, creative director George Coats and restaurant owner that Jobs often goes to who is suspected to be his biological father Abdulfattah Jandali.
The film is being produced by Scott Rudin, Mark Gordon, Guymon Casady and Christian Colson. It’s been many years that Snook has been on Rudin’s radar. The beautiful Australian actress was among other actresses who was chosen to star in “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,” which Rudin produced. It’s also worth mentioning that Snook has also previously worked with Mark Gordon on the ABC series “Clementine.”
Snook has also gained mixed reviews for her double role as both a male and a female starring opposite Ethan Hawke in the 2014 science fiction film “Predestination.” The actress, who formerly starred in the 2014 movie “Jessabelle.” Her other works include “The Dressmaker” and “Oddball”. She’s also currently starring in HBO’s hit series “Succession” as Shiv. Sook is represented by Principato-Young Entertainment, UTA, and Shanahan Management.
