It has been said that the mayor of a tiny town in Missouri stole a skid steer that was valued at $18,000 and belonged to a man who passed away not too long ago.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol has filed a criminal complaint against Adam Bequette, the mayor of St. Mary, Missouri, alleging that he took the skid steer, which was supposed to be given to the deceased man’s two adult children. Bequette is accused with tampering with a motor vehicle and theft.
According to a probable cause statement, the owner of the skid steer, which is a type of machinery that is utilised in the construction industry, landscaping, and farming, passed away in the month of March.
In spite of this, the man’s two children discovered that their father’s stuff had been stolen without their awareness when they went to visit their father two months later.
According to the police, who indicated that they obtained this information through meetings with city employees, Bequette allegedly directed municipal personnel to remove the skid steer from the property after stating that it was impeding access to city water lines.
This information was obtained by the police.
Bequette further said, as described in the court record, that he made an effort to get in touch with the man’s relatives prior to the relocation of the property that they owned.

The police, on the other hand, maintained that there was no evidence to suggest that it was blocking anything or that the family had been taken into consideration.
In June, the skid steer was discovered at a city facility, and after being recovered, it was subsequently handed over to the family of the person who had owned it.
According to the documents that have been submitted to the court, Bequette has not yet consented to the terms of the plea.
