Earlier this month, while tumultuous, anti-ICE rallies began in Los Angeles, California Governor Gavin Newsom wore sunglasses and drank wine at a posh charity dinner at his sun-drenched winery.
On the afternoon of June 7, a lavish event called “Vineyard Vibes” was hosted at the Odette Estate Winery in Napa Valley to generate funds for the PlumpJack Foundation, which was established by Newsom’s sister.
The day after his City of Angels began to descend into violence, with rioters hurling concrete rocks at police officers and damaging government buildings, a witness was horrified to see the Democrat idly sipping a glass of wine while wearing a baseball cap and V-neck T-shirt.
“He was just walking around like this was an everyday occurrence.”
The same day, however, downtown Los Angeles, more than 400 miles away, was engulfed in pandemonium; rioters were apprehended for throwing Molotov cocktails at police, and cars were set on fire and covered in graffiti that read “KILL ICE” and “F–K ICE.”
President Trump summoned the National Guard despite Newsom’s protests, accusing the Republican of inciting the violence, which was sparked by Immigration and Customs Enforcement sweeps on illegal immigrants.
According to the source, Newsom spent at least ninety minutes at the wine event before Trump sent in the military later that night.
The event included pizza and smash burgers from local vendors, live jazz music, and “contemporary yet sophisticated” wines.
“It’s the perfect kick-off to summer fun,” according to the promotional language.
“The fete will take place on the Winery Crushpad, where we’ll gather for music, food, conversation, a delicious wine!”
According to a governor’s office representative, Newsom “proudly attended” the UCSF Cancer Center’s annual fundraiser “in honour of his mother who died of breast cancer” at the age of 55.
According to its website, the PlumpJack Foundation is dedicated to preventing cancer, educating people about it, and breaking the cycle of poverty.

More than ten years ago, Newsom and two other business partners co-founded Odette Estate Winery.
A potential 2028 presidential candidate, Newsom has previously come under fire for being out of touch. In November 2020, for example, he was seen attending a fancy dinner party for 12 people while advising Californians to avoid socialising because to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Around the same time he lobbied for state regulations intended to stop the disease’s spread, he and his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, were photographed uncovered.
In the midst of a tempest, Newsom issued an apology for the startling display of hypocrisy.
“While the First Partner and I followed the restaurant’s health protocols and took safety precautions, I should have modeled better behavior and not joined the dinner,” he stated.
The commander in chief’s power to manage National Guard troops he dispatched to the liberal West Coast city has been the subject of legal disputes between Newsom and Trump.
Trump maintained that he had to intervene to restore order, while Newsom said the deployment was a waste of money and increased the temperature.
