No injuries after Car smashes through garage into backyard in Northglenn

On Tuesday night, a car drove into a complete garage at a home in the 1100 block of Irma Drive in Northglenn, leaving a mound of bricks and debris in the rear.

The Northglenn Police Department informed that they responded to the call shortly after 8 p.m. and that no one was carried from the site with injuries, but one person was detained.

Reporters arrived at the scene around 9 p.m. and assumed the truck had been removed, but it was still in the backyard of the property.

Mike, the homeowner, told reporters he was out to dinner when another person inside the property called to tell that a car had driven through the garage.

“From the backyard, there’s just lots of debris, and a car in the backyard. Car went all the way through the brick wall and all the way through,” Mike said. “We’re real happy that nobody got hurt, and hopefully the guy involved isn’t injured. We don’t want anybody ever to get hurt.”

North Metro Fire Rescue also arrived to the area and advised individuals not to stay at the house until the structure could be secured.

The vehicle was removed at 10 p.m.

This is not the first time a car has wound up in this house; the homeowners told Nieto that the brick wall was created after another automobile smashed into the house years before. The house is located at the crossroads of two residential streets.
