An officer shot at three suspects after they attempted to run him over, leading police on a chase overnight in northeast Houston, according to authorities.
Around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, officials responded to a request for violent robbery at Dixie Drive and Mykawa Road, where three guys, aged 18, 19, and 20, stole another man’s Ford Mustang, according to HPD Assistant Chief Luis Menendez.
Police contacted other officers throughout the city, and they soon discovered the automobile parked at Cliff Tuttle Park, located at 6200 Lyons and Kress Street.
cops told the suspects to get out of the car, but they drove at them, Menendez said, and one of the cops shot at them, hitting the car numerous times.
The suspects led police on a chase until they crashed into a curb in the 7500 block of Force Street.
The men fled the automobile but were shortly apprehended, according to authorities.
Nobody was wounded.
The cop who fired the bullets had been patrolling for nearly a year.
Police stated they discovered a stolen gun inside the vehicle, as well as an AR-15 style weapon that was thrown out during the pursuit.
