Police Father Kills Family of 4 in Mother’s Day Weekend Murder-Suicide Before Son’s Graduation

Days before she and her two kids were killed, the wife of a man from Nebraska who is accused of murdering his entire family of four in a murder-suicide posted an online request for help with her husband’s mental health, according to a report.

The Nebraska State Patrol announced on Saturday that Jeremy Koch, 42, killed his wife Bailey, 41, and kids Hudson, 18, and Asher, 16, by stabbing them before taking his own life in their rural Dawson County home.

The family was discovered dead just hours before Hudson’s high school graduation on Saturday.

When Bailey started the GoFundMe campaign earlier this month, it was dubbed “Jeremy’s Battle: Mental Health Support Needed.” The page has now been taken down.

Bailey purportedly stated, “May is Mental Health Awareness Month, so here we are… making you aware,”

She claimed that Jeremy had made several attempts to end his life, including his first attempt in 2009.

Bailey claims that Jeremy’s despair hit a fever pitch last year.

“Jeremy cannot get out of bed unless forced,” she stated. “By not eating or drinking, Jeremy is slowly completing suicide.”

According to what she wrote, the family’s revenue from Jeremy’s local landscaping business had stopped coming in.

Bailey claimed that in March, when she woke up, Jeremy was standing over her with a knife. She calmed him down and persuaded him to seek inpatient mental health treatment. According to the report, that was Jeremy’s fourth hospitalization for mental health issues.

She said that her husband did not benefit from a round of electroconvulsive therapy.

“It was unsuccessful. Jeremy turned become a shadow of his former self.

She wrote, “I have no pride left,” at the moment. “Mental illness is taking my husband from me, and I’m begging you to open your eyes and see the reality that is this society’s mental health crisis.”

Jeremy was released from the hospital last week to attend Hudson’s graduation, according to Bailey’s post on the GoFundMe.

At Holdrege Public Schools, Bailey taught special education.

According to reports, the district stated on Saturday that “our Holdrege school community is grieving after a tragic event that has deeply affected us all.” “Our hearts are with everyone impacted.”
