Recently, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department made an arrest without having to travel far. Deputies discovered two Norwalk men in the Chino Hills Police Station lobby who had outstanding warrants.
According to a news release from the SBSD, Jose Vasquez and Alberto Martinez were taken into custody on Wednesday after deputies got in touch with them and found out they had warrants.
The men will probably face more charges, however it is unclear why they were in a police station lobby when they were being sought by the authorities.
“During a vehicle search, deputies located methamphetamine, stolen credit cards, a credit card skimming device, and burglary tools,” the SBSD said.
In lieu of $30,000 bail, Vasquez, 42, and Martinez, 31, are both being held at the West Valley Detention Center. On Friday, they are scheduled to appear in Rancho Superior Court.
Petty theft with prior convictions, possession of a controlled substance with prior convictions, and possession of a controlled substance for sale are among the offenses listed in jail records.
