Raleigh man faces New Charges after allegedly causing head-on crash to kill Wife

A Wake County District Judge on Monday imposed additional charges on Andersen Singleton, 33, from Raleigh, who is alleged to have deliberately caused a head-on collision over the weekend that resulted in serious injuries to three individuals, including his spouse.

Authorities reported that Singleton is now charged with domestic violence assault, stalking, and making threats, in addition to assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, following a head-on collision involving a vehicle, which was recorded on video.

“No one was ejected. Thankfully, everyone was wearing their seatbelt,” a witness reported.

At precisely 5:57 a.m. on Saturday, Jorge Bravo’s SUV dash cam captured the incident that unfolded on Rock Quarry Road, situated between Fox Ridge Manor and Southgate Drive in Raleigh.

He attempted to assist the wounded, including Singleton, who, according to investigators and witnesses like Bravo, deliberately triggered the collision.

“He was like, ‘Oh, that’s not an accident. I was trying to kill my wife and myself. We were fighting each other. We’re trying to kill each other.’ We’re definitely on the psych ward,” Bravo said. “And I thought that was a very interesting thing for him to just kind of blurt out nervous and he was just, like, confessing all this.”

Authorities in Raleigh reported that Singleton, driving a black Honda CR-V, veered across the line, colliding with a brown Toyota Camry and causing injuries to two men inside — Candido Montero Valdiviezo and Nelson Perez Lopez from Selma.

In the unfortunate incident, Singleton’s spouse, present in the vehicle alongside him, sustained injuries as well. All individuals present were transported to a local medical facility for care.

“I noticed the passenger side, a woman on the black sedan kind of just falls out of the passenger door and just kind of just lays there,” Bravo said.

A paramedic happened to be driving by when the head-on collision occurred and immediately stopped to assist the injured until emergency services arrived.

Court documents reveal that officers noted Singleton did not seem impaired during the incident.

At his arraignment on Monday, the judge mandated that Singleton must keep his distance from his wife. He has been refused bail.

Singleton is charged with two counts of using a deadly weapon with the intention to kill, resulting in serious injuries, as well as reckless driving and driving on the wrong side of the road. The judge additionally instructed him to avoid any actions of assault, beating, molestation, or harm towards the alleged victim, who is his wife.

Authorities report that those inside both vehicles sustained serious injuries, though they are not life-threatening.

Singleton and the other driver sustained only minor injuries.
