Record of Ragnarok is a Japanese manga series written by Shinya Umemura and Takumi Fukui and illustrated by Ajichika. The story follows the Gods of Asgard as they wage war against humanity in a tournament style battle for the fate of the world. Each side must select 13 warriors to represent them, with each God selecting one from various eras and cultures throughout history.

The series was serialized in Shueisha’s Jump Square magazine from December 2017 to February 2020, with its chapters collected into seven tankōbon volumes. An anime television series adaptation by Graphinica premiered in July 2021. So far there’s only one season of the series.

Here are all the updates about the potential second season of Record or Ragnarok!

Record of Ragnarok season 1 recap!

In the first season of Record of Ragnarok, we follow the story of 13 gods and 13 humans chosen by fate to battle each other in a tournament called Ragnarok. The gods are tasked with defending their respective pantheons while the humans must fight to prove humanity’s worthiness to exist.

The tournament is presided over by the god Odin who acts as referee and judge. Each round of combat is judged based on strength, strategy, and courage, with victory determined by either killing or incapacitating one’s opponent.

Throughout the course of the competition, various secrets about the gods and their motivations for fighting are revealed. It is also revealed that there are powerful forces at play behind the scenes, manipulating both sides of the conflict in order to achieve their own ends.

Ultimately, after many fierce battles between gods and humans, Thor emerges victorious over his human counterpart, Yuya Sakaki. However, this is not enough to satisfy Odin’s criteria for determining humanity’s worthiness. In response, he reveals that the true test has yet to come: a final battle against himself in order to decide humanity’s ultimate fate.

The gods have created a new weapon called The Divine Judgment, a powerful weapon that could turn the tide in their favor. However, it’s not going to be easy as the humans have their own plans in motion.

Meanwhile, Thor has been resurrected by his father Odin and is now determined to end the war once and for all. He joins forces with both gods and humans to battle against those who would stand in his way. As he continues his journey, Thor will learn more about himself and what it means to be a god.
