According to their state’s calendar, thousands of people who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits get their payouts in May.
As you are aware, the methods used by each state to distribute these “food stamps” vary based on the number of recipients and the capabilities of respective institutional frameworks.
The so-called “D-SNAP” payments are also occasionally activated, depending on the need, and they function during natural disasters.
This is in addition to the regular SNAP benefit payments that are made each month (some states distribute in as long as 28 days due to their millions of beneficiaries, while others finish in a few days).
Residents of 13 counties in the state of Kentucky will be eligible to receive additional funds from these D-SNAP benefits after being impacted by severe storms this week.
13 counties in Kentucky qualify for disaster assistance (D-SNAP)
The Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) and Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) will be available to residents of 13 counties in Kentucky that have experienced flooding and extreme weather.
Anderson, Butler, Christian, Clark, Hardin, Franklin, Hopkins, Jessamine, McCracken, Mercer, Owen, and Woodford are the counties in question.
People who lost their jobs or income as a result of the disaster, including employees, independent contractors, and those who intended to start working, are eligible for the DUA.
Candidates must show that they are ineligible for standard unemployment insurance and that their principal source of income was directly harmed.
The DUA is available to self-employed people and farmers, who are typically not eligible for standard benefits.
Up to 29 weeks of unemployment due to disasters are covered by the program. Applications must be filed by June 23, 2025, by phone at 502-564-2900 or online at kcc.ky.gov.

If I misplace or have my EBT/SNAP card stolen, how can I get a new one?
In Kentucky, recipients should contact 1-888-979-9949 to replace an EBT card that has been lost or stolen. If an instance of electronic theft (like skimming) took place after October 2022, a reimbursement request may be made.
The procedure include reporting the event right away and altering the PIN.
To start a claim, those who experienced benefit theft should call the Kentucky EBT line. Refunds are determined by local laws, and each state considers each situation separately. The likelihood of retrieving monies is increased by prompt verification.
