SNAP Update: Households of Two to Receive Up to $517 by May 10, 2025

SNAP Update Households of Two to Receive Up to $517 by May 10, 2025

On May 1, 2025, USDA began disbursing SNAP benefits. But not every State completed by May 1.

On the first day of the month, just a few of them distributed all of the Food Stamps. Simply check your EBT card balance and purchase all the groceries you require at approved farmer markets, grocery shops, or retailers if you reside in Alaska, Rhode Island, Vermont, North Dakota, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Fortunately, SNAP benefits can be carried over to the next month, so if you have saved money on food and don’t need to buy everything at once, you can just save it.

With more crops growing in the spring and summer, people in rural areas can save money on food by growing their own vegetables (potatoes, tomatoes, lettuce, fruits, and so forth).

From May 3 to May 10, SNAP payments

After May 1, the majority of states will still provide SNAP benefits. Food Stamps will not be distributed by one of them until May 10. In South Dakota, this is the situation.

May 10, 2025 is the deadline for states in California, Colorado, Illinois, Idaho, Kansas, Iowa, Oklahoma, Nevada, South Carolina, D.C., and Guam to pay Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits.
