SUV loses control, Trailer overturns on I-15 near Draper; No injuries reported

As a result of a single-vehicle collision that included an SUV and a trailer, three lanes of northbound Interstate 15 in Salt Lake County were closed on Sunday afternoon, resulting in a backup that was two miles long.

On April 13, just before 11:30 a.m., the Utah Department of Transportation received the initial report of the collision that took place in the vicinity of 14200 South in Draper.

Lt. Cameron Roden of the Utah Highway Patrol stated that the driver of an SUV going northbound while pulling a trailer began weaving across traffic and eventually lost control of the vehicle. Despite the fact that it was still linked to the SUV, the trailer flipped over and landed on its side in the fourth lane of the five-wide roadway.

While the investigation and cleanup of the incident was being carried out, lanes three, four, and five were closed by the state police and emergency workers. Roden anticipated that the impacted lanes would reopen between the hours of one and one and a half o’clock.

There was no report of any injuries.
