A 66-year-old man was allegedly “stomped” to death outside of a church by two California adolescents, ages 14 and 15, who allegedly left and returned numerous times “to take turns” repeatedly beating him before swiping his clothes and fleeing, according to the prosecution.
In a press release issued by the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office, it was said that Davy Glen Pichel, a resident of Oxnard, was discovered partially naked and pummelling outside of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church on the morning of June 5.
This was after he had been assaulted the previous evening.
“The video shows the teenagers approaching Mr. Pichel as he was seated near the church side door next to his wheelchair,” the office said in its announcement.
The video also shows the teenagers approaching, It is stated that the teenagers assaulted and trampled on the victim. They left for a short while, but then allegedly came back to take turns stomping on him once more.
It was reported by Pichel that the adolescents came back “repeatedly” to abuse the victim.
During the third assault, the adolescents allegedly carried out one more act of violence before stripping Pichel’s clothing and “running away from the scene,” as stated by the prosecutors.

Upon discovering Pichel near the side entrance, a church volunteer discovered him with “significant injuries to the head and facial area.” He was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.
According to the prosecutors, the hearings for the adolescents have been rescheduled to take place on June 24. Previously, they were set to be arraigned this week.
According to the District Attorney’s office, they are now being kept at a local juvenile facility and are being charged in juvenile court. This information was provided on Thursday.
