Temperatures climbing through the week with Heat peaking Saturday and Sunday in Midlands

The cold front that brought some clouds and gusty gusts today will move east of the area tonight.

Temperatures will drop into the mid-40s tonight, making conditions calmer and cooler. Wednesday will be a peaceful, sunny day with light winds and highs in the lower 70s.

Temperatures will rise after that, reaching the mid 70s on Thursday and the mid 80s on Friday.

The heat is expected to climax this weekend, with highs in the upper 80s on Saturday and Sunday. This is set to be the warmest Easter in the Midlands since 2011.

High temperatures are expected to linger in the 80s for the majority of next week as well.

The weather pattern should become more active next week, giving us a chance of some rain. Between now and then, the Midlands are unlikely to receive any rain.
