Texas Flooding Turns Deadly Storm System Brings Rain to Indiana, Tennessee

Until the early weekend, major cities in Louisiana and Arkansas will face an increased risk of flooding as a result of ongoing storms and downpours that are moving east across the South.

As much as eight inches of precipitation caused floods in the central region of the state of Texas, which resulted in the deaths of almost a dozen people, the rainfall comes after the flooding disaster.

At least seventy water rescues were carried out on Thursday in San Antonio, which was particularly heavily impacted by the storm.

In a statement, Mayor Ron Nirenberg expressed his condolences to the families of those who have lost loved ones as a result of the flash floods that occurred this week.

He also expressed his support to the families who are still looking for their loved ones.

With a rainfall total of 6.11 inches, San Antonio earned the distinction of having the second-wettest June day on record in the past 12 years.

In addition, the rain that fell on Thursday was nearly twice as much as the previous daily record of 3.26 inches, which was established in 1973. This made Thursday the tenth wettest day that has ever been recorded at San Antonio International Airport.

As the storms travel towards the east, the potential of flooding goes with them into Louisiana, Arkansas, and southwestern Tennessee until Saturday. In these areas, there is a flash flood risk of a level 2 out of 4, which is expected to continue throughout the early weekend.

During the annual Bonnaroo Music Festival, which takes place in Tennessee, the rainy weather caused a lot of problems.

The organisers of the event informed those who had purchased tickets that there would be a delay of several hours and urged everyone to seek cover until the storm clouds passed through.

In the southern region of Indiana, where flash flood warnings and even a flash flood emergency were issued, it appeared that the most intense rains had taken place.

As a result of the three to five inches of rainfall that flooded several streets, first responders reported assisting to multiple water rescues.

Watches for flooding were issued from certain regions of Louisiana all the way back into Texas.

In addition, there is a possibility that severe storms will continue to occur, with destructive wind gusts being the primary danger. The possibility of a brief tornado cannot be discounted, however.
