According to the police, a man from Texas went after his girlfriend in the local restaurant where she worked and stabbed her multiple times, ultimately resulting in her death.
According to a press release, Santos Hernandez Cornejo, who is 53 years old, is accused of killing his girlfriend, Argelia Diaz Maya, who is 50 years old, shortly after midnight on Saturday in Houston.
A probable cause arrest affidavit filed by the Houston Police Department states that Hernandez Cornejo “lied in wait” outside of the Burnin’ Shell restaurant, where his girlfriend worked as a dishwasher.
According to the allegations, he confronted her with a knife that was concealed in his waistband when she approached him.
She ran back inside the restaurant after they had a disagreement, but Hernandez Cornejo pursued her and “stabbed her multiple times throughout her body,” according to the police. On arrival, the paramedics confirmed that Maya had passed away.
Although the suspect ran away from the area, he eventually turned himself in to law enforcement on his own volition. Reportedly, Hernandez Cornejo admitted to killing his girlfriend after Miranda was released from custody.
It was reported that he told the detectives that he had a suspicion that she was cheating on him, and as a result, he installed a listening device in her bedroom and a tracker on her vehicle.
It was possible to capture Hernandez Cornejo throwing the bloody knife into a nearby field, which the police later found. The video was captured by surveillance cameras.
