Now, migrants, you have to be on your guard. The USCIS (Citizenship and Immigration Services) has issued an urgent alert to the millions of immigrants who have a Green Card in our nation, as we are aware that the Trump Administration regrettably seeks to alter our (and their) understanding of migration.
Their most recent pronouncement, which sounds like a trigger notice, states that permanent residence is not a luxury or even a guaranteed entitlement under the immigration statutes.
What does it signify? that if they find any violations of the current regulation, it can be removed.
Naturally, this is in line with President Donald Trump’s proposed immigration policies, which aim to tighten controls on the migrant population and identify individuals who may pose a threat to our national security or to our nations—what he refers to as “public charges”—even if they have legal status in our nation.
They claim this is advice, but we know it’s actually a warning: residents need to exercise greater caution than ever before, both in public and private settings, as any behavior the government deems dangerous could result in harsher penalties, the cancellation of their visas, or even deportation (though we hope this only occurs in the most dire circumstances).
Let’s examine how such statements may impact you.
Trump has issued an express order for USCIS to strengthen controls
I’m sorry, but a green card is no longer a guarantee of security; it can be revoked if the holder believes you are doing a crime that goes against what society believes.
When Trump returned to the White House, migratory politics were immediately strengthened.
In addition to controls, they made sure to increase their use of social media and digital platforms to ensure that migrants behaved appropriately (wait, is that legal?).
After stating this, they reminded everyone that a green card is reversible (if they so choose) and that immigrants must follow the law even if they have been in the nation for a long time or have had some advantages authorized.
Less tolerance equals more surveillance
The fact that our society is becoming less livable is not a secret; we witness it every day in the news and even in our cities.
In this regard, USCIS also monitors migrant individuals’ social media accounts in order to exert control over them, claiming that they wish to identify behavior that is prohibited (e.g., associated with extremist ideology, hate speech, antisemitic discourse, or similar).

Are you in danger?
USCIS makes it plain that the government has the power and ability to alter your status even if you have a green card: The United States will not tolerate fraud, lying on documents, or criminal activity.
This also impacts a large number of migrant students who have experienced similar changes while protesting against the Sionist administration and in support of Palestine, knowing that their visas would be revoked if they persisted in their protests. Indeed, it did occur.
This is not a game; the USCIS has undergone adjustments and is now harsher than ever. The message is clear: you are not untouchable and will be the subject of multiple investigations simply for being a migrant.
