Vance Boelter Faces Charges in Shootings of State Lawmakers and Their Partners

In connection with the shootings of two Minnesota politicians and their spouses, Vance Boelter has been charged with the crimes.

According to the criminal complaint that was submitted to the Hennepin County Court on Saturday, Boelter, who is 57 years old, is being charged with two charges of murdered in the second degree as well as two counts of attempted murder in the second degree.

In the aftermath of a manhunt that lasted for more than three days and three nights, he was apprehended on Sunday evening close to his residence in Sibley County.

In accordance with the allegations, law enforcement personnel responded to a shooting that took place at a residence in Champlin, Minnesota, at approximately 2:05 a.m. on Saturday.

The individual who called 911 stated that a masked individual, who was later determined to be Boelter by the authorities, had arrived at their residence and then shot their parents.

State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were found to have been shot by the officers that responded to the scene. The statement made by Yvette Hoffman is that she was shot eight times, while her husband was hit nine times.

There was a Ford SUV with “police-style lights” parked in the driveway of the Hoffmans’ home, as shown on surveillance video taken outside the Hoffmans’ residence.

According to the charges, Boelter knocked on their door and introduced himself as a police officer before entering the residence and shooting John and Yvette Hoffman.

He was wearing a mask, a blue shirt, and a tactical vest that was designed for police officers, along with a badge and a revolver that looked like it had a yellow handle.

According to the charges, the Brooklyn Park Police Department was aware of the incident that occurred in Champlin and promptly dispatched patrol officers to the residence of another state senator, who was ultimately determined to be state Representative Melissa Hortman.

According to the complaint, when officers arrived at the residence at approximately 3:35 in the morning, they witnessed Boelter shooting a man through a doorway.

The victim was later determined to be Mark Hortman, who is the husband of Melissa Hortman. During the exchange of gunfire between the police and Boelter, the latter went inside the home and took off from the area.

The bodies of Melissa Hortman and John Hortman were discovered by the police inside their residence.

At least three AK-47 assault rifles, a 9mm handgun, and a list of the names and addresses of additional public figures were discovered by the officers who searched the SUV, according to the charges levied against them.

A bulletproof vest, a disassembled 9mm handgun, a mask, and a gold badge in the manner of a police badge were discovered by the police while they were examining the area.

According to the criminal complaint, Boelter is the person who is named as the purchaser of at least four of the firearms that were taken by the police.

According to the police, Boelter was identified as the individual seen in the surveillance video by a person who is familiar with him.
