The Alaska House of Representatives cut the original proposal by nearly two-thirds on April 11, 2025. In 2025, how much may PFD stimulus check recipients anticipate?
The PFD for 2025 would be roughly $1,400 per person if the informal formula from previous years were applied. The entire sum, including an energy relief bonus, was $1,702 in 2024. This year, the payment is available to almost 600,000 residents.
A $1,000 PFD, the lowest in five years after accounting for inflation, was suggested by the Senate Finance Committee in May 2025.
This amount would cut the deficit by $265 million, though it is still subject to change. However, $1,400 had already been approved by the House of Representatives in April.

Is It Possible for Some to Have a Nearly $3,900 PFD Fund?
In accordance with the governor’s statutory formula, a $3,892 dividend was added in a House Finance Committee draft in April.
However, fiscal analysis indicates that this scenario would result in a sizable deficit. During the talks, one lawmaker said, “Balancing priorities is key.”
Permanent residency, a minimum of 72 hours of in-person presence during the previous two years, and the lack of a relevant criminal record remain the eligibility requirements for 2025.
Applications for the 2025 PFD were due on March 31. The money will be disbursed to those who fulfilled the deadline on the dates set by the Alaska Department of Revenue.

The exact sum, which is still being discussed in mid-May, is dependent on economic conditions and legislative agreements.
Beneficiaries are cautioned by analysts that $3,900 checks are improbable since they would exhaust nearly half of the Constitutional Budget Reserve, making viability more difficult.
