An 88-year-old Hamilton lady died from injuries incurred in an automobile accident near Fairfield on Saturday, April 12, shortly after 2:00 p.m., according to Montana Highway Patrol.
MHP stated that the 88-year-old woman was driving a Dodge Grand Caravan. She was stopped at the crossroads of S-565 and US Highway 89. According to MHP, the woman continued through the junction north when a Chevrolet Silverado travelling east on Highway 89 collided with her automobile.
An 18-year-old male from Great Falls drove the Silverado. In the incident, his pickup ended up in a ditch. The woman’s automobile swung around and remained on the road.
According to MHP, the 88-year-old died in the hospital as a result of injuries sustained in the incident. The teenager was unharmed.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision. The MHP does not believe that speed, alcohol, or drugs played a role in the deadly occurrence.
