Woman Allegedly Strangled Granddaughter After Accusing Her of Stealing Meth

In response to allegations that she assaulted her granddaughter for “stealing her methamphetamine,” a woman from Louisiana was taken into custody and charged with multiple counts of drug possession.

Margo Lynn Pattum, 62 years old, was taken into custody by the Jennings Police Department on Saturday, according to a press release that was published on Facebook.

Pattum was charged with nine counts of drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, and obstruction of justice.

In addition, Pattum is accused of strangling her own granddaughter, who was described as a minor, after accusing her of stealing her drugs, as stated by the police.

According to Jennings Police, they responded to a call on Thursday after the granddaughter reported that Pattum “strangled her” because she believed the girl stole her methamphetamine.

The granddaughter gave the reason that Pattum “strangled her.” During the course of their investigation into the alleged incident, the police obtained a search warrant for Pattum’s residence.

The police have stated that during the process of carrying out the warrant, they came across “a wide variety of narcotics,” which included methamphetamine, crack cocaine, and marijuana, in addition to additional narcotics in pill form.

Additionally, they were able to seize three firearms, one of which had been found to have been stolen. In addition, Pattum was searched, and the authorities discovered a container containing crack cocaine.

According to the police, Pattum’s alleged criminal activity continued while she was being transported to jail. During this time, she allegedly “attempted to discard a container” that contained additional suspected crack cocaine “behind the transport seat” of the vehicle in which she was riding.

Pattum was taken into custody and is currently being held on a $5,000 bond. There is still an ongoing investigation.
